The League
The Women’s Football Alliance (WFA), established in 2009, is the highest level of women’s professional tackle football in the world. It features 11-on-11 traditional football with NCAA rules, and 40 teams nationwide split into two competitive tiers (Divisions 1 & 2).
Our league competes on a national platform with championship games broadcast on ESPN, ESPN2, and through exclusive partnerships with the All Women’s Sports Network (AWSN) and on Amazon Prime. In 2026, the WFA achieved over 1.1 million live views during “Game of the Week” and championship broadcasts, a steady increase from the 2025 season.
Inspired by the intensity of European soccer, the WFA uses an exciting promotion/relegation system where every matchup matters — raising the stakes and keeping fans riveted all season long.
